11 Killed, 8 Injured In Another Auto Crash In Abia

Coming on the trail of a road accident which claimed the lives of five passengers and injured four others along Port Harcourt – Enugu Expressway on Sunday, another crash has led to the death of 11 persons, while eight others were injured on the same route.

Abia State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps( FRSC), Ngozi Ezeoma verified this on Thursday in a statement observed by LEADERSHIP in Umuahia, the state’s capital.

According to the statement, the accident involved a Nissan Caravan marketable machine with enrollment no. SSM 320 ZR conveying 19 passengers to Enugu and a stationary HOWO truck registered with T2828LA.

“ A combine deliverance platoon from FRSC RS 9.31 Aba and RS 9.32 km78 Aba Unit Commands arrived at the scene of the crash within 5 twinkles of notice and conducted deliverance operations, ” Ezeoma explained.

The statement, which noted that both the injured and the victims were taken to a sanitarium and a mortuary in Aba, said primary examinations refocused at over speeding as the cause of the crash.
