Aviation, insurance experts for 4th CHINET Aviacargo conference

The 4th edition of the CHINET Aviacargo Conference, organized by ATQNEWS, is scheduled to take place on August 22nd in Lagos. This annual event will gather leaders from the aviation, cargo, and insurance industries, along with key regulators, to address the pressing challenges facing the sector.

Mr. Olusegun Omosehin, the Insurance Commissioner, will be the special guest of honor at the conference. A significant contingent of insurance professionals, including industry veterans and Chief Executive Officers, will participate in panel discussions and deliver keynote speeches. Among the key topics to be discussed are the relationship between airlines and insurance, as well as the critical role of insurance in the aviation sector.

Capt. Chris Najomo, the Acting Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), will provide insights into aviation regulations for air cargo. Additionally, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) will present its contributions to the growth of air cargo, with presentations from the Managing Director, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, and the newly established Directorate of Cargo Development Services. Capt. Ed Boyo, Chief Executive Officer of Overland, will also share his perspectives on industry trends and developments.

The conference will explore the role of airports in boosting air cargo, with presentations by Remi Jibodu, the Acting Chief Operating Officer (COO) of MM2, and George Uriesi, the COO of Ibom Air. Capt. John Ojikutu will discuss the opportunities available in domestic air cargo, while Ayo Ife-Lewis of Greater Washington will address the associated challenges.

Furthermore, the conference will cover critical topics related to export integrity and security, featuring contributions from NAFDAC, NAQS, and industry stakeholders such as Pathfinders, NAGAFF, and APFFLON. The event is poised to offer a platform for in-depth discussions and practical solutions aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s air cargo sector.
