WAEC to release May/June 2024 WASSCE results Monday

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that it will release the results of the May/June 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) today. This examination was taken by 1,814,344 candidates across 22,229 secondary schools nationwide.

According to Mrs. Moyosola Adesina, the acting Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, the Head of National Office (HNO), Dr. Amos Dangut, will officially announce the release at the WAEC headquarters in Yaba on Monday. Earlier in April 2024, Dr. Dangut mentioned that out of the 1.8 million candidates, 902,328 (49.73%) were male, while 912,016 (50.27%) were female. The candidates were assessed in 76 subjects, comprising 197 papers, with 30,000 secondary school teachers supervising the examination.

The release of these results is crucial for candidates who are seeking admission for the 2023/2024 academic session into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. Many of these candidates took the examination with their results still pending. Additionally, some institutions, including private ones, have already begun their admission processes and scheduled dates for Post-UTME screenings.

Dr. Dangut highlighted that, as per WAEC’s recent practices, the results would be released 45 days after the final paper was conducted, and certificates will be printed and distributed to schools within 90 days of the results’ release. Moreover, digital copies of the certificates will be available on the digital certificate platform for easy access.
